CAUTION:

Always follow the procedure described in repair manual when connecting the battery. The battery cut-out will be deactivated and damage to the vehicle electrical equipment may occur if the connecting sequence is not followed exactly. Refer to BATTERY .

NOTE:

The function of the windshield wiper system can be checked via the Wiper Motor Control Module -J400- output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM).

General Description

NOTE:

The hood (Engine Hood Contact Switch -F266-) must be closed in order to use the windshield wipers.

The Wiper Motor Control Module -J400- is integrated in the Windshield Wiper Motor -V-.

NOTE:

If Wiper Motor Control Module -J400- or Windshield Wiper Motor -V- is replaced, Wiper Motor Control Module -J400- must be coded. Refer to Wiper Motor Control Module -J400-, CODING .

Malfunction Recognition and Malfunction Indicator

The Wiper Motor Control Module -J400- and the Vehicle Electrical System Control Module -J519- have On Board Diagnostics (OBD), which makes Fault Finding easier.

The "Guided Fault Finding" function is to be used for troubleshooting of one of the systems described as in chapter "Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System". Refer to VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC TESTER .
