Mounting Bracket, Removing And Installing: Removing

NOTE:

The following describes the removal and installation of the left mounting bracket. The right side is identical.

-- Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Depending on the version, remove the lock cylinder cap (refer to DOOR HANDLE CAP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING ) and the lock cylinder (refer to LOCK CYLINDER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING ).

-- Or remove the cap without the lock cylinder. Refer to CAP WITHOUT LOCK CYLINDER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Door Handle, Removing. Refer to DOOR HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the door inner cover. Refer to DOOR INNER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the door handle. Refer to DOOR HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the screw -4- and then remove the backing plate -1-.

-- Remove the mounting bracket -1- from the front door -arrow d-.

Cable, Loosening

-- Release the retainer -5- and pivot it out of the mount in the mounting bracket -arrow a-.

-- Remove the cable pin out of the mount -arrow b-.

-- Remove the cable -2- from the mounting bracket -1- -arrow c-.
