8.1 Overview - Rearview Camera System
The rear view camera system assists the driver when driving in reverse by providing the driver with an image of the traffic situation behind the vehicle via the Front Information Display Control Head - J685-.
The rearview camera system is switched on when engaging the reverse gear.
The rearview camera system consists of the following components:
- The pivoting emblem with the Rearview Camera - R189- and pivoting motor
- Information Electronics Control Module 1 - J794-
- Front Information Display Control Head - J685-
NOTE:
- Familiarity with the function and operation of the rearview camera system is needed if there are customer concerns.
- Refer to the Owner's Manual for additional information.
- After repair work is performed on the vehicle, it may be necessary to recalibrate the rearview camera system on vehicles with trailer assist. Refer to 8.5 Rearview Camera System, Calibrating
- Fault Finding is performed using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
