Procedure
- Engine/transmission assembly removed and placed on the :VAS6131B .
-- Remove the connectors from the bracket, disconnect them and then free up the wires.
1 -For the Oxygen Sensor after Three Way Catalytic Converter -G130-
4 -For the Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 -G108-
Ignore -2 and 3-.
-- Release the locking mechanism in direction of -arrows-, and free up the wires to disconnect and remove the connectors from one another and out of the bracket:
2 -For the Oxygen Sensor 2 after Catalytic Converter -G131-
1 -For the Heated Oxygen Sensor -G39-
The catalytic converter for the cylinder bank 1 (right) is on the left in the vehicle.
-- Remove the bolts -1- from the mounting for the catalytic converter.
Ignore -2-.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows- from the cylinder bank 1 (right) and then remove the left catalytic converter from the vehicle.
The catalytic converter for the cylinder bank 2 (left) is on the right in the vehicle.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- from the mounting for the catalytic converter.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows- from the cylinder bank 2 (left) and then remove the right catalytic converter from the vehicle.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the heat shield -1-.
-- Remove the bolt -1- from the bracket for the hydraulic line.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the left transmission mount with the transmission support.
Lay a cloth underneath to catch any leaking ATF.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and then remove the ATF line -1- from the transmission.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the :VAS6122 .
Risk of destroying the transmission control module (Mechatronic) with static discharge.
- Before handling the connector, always "discharge" the static electricity. Do this by touching a grounded object, for example vehicle ground, the vehicle or the hoist.
- Do not touch connector terminals in the transmission connector with hands.
-- Turn the twist lock counter-clockwise -arrow- and disconnect the connector from the transmission.
-- Free up the wiring harness on the transmission.
Vehicles through MY 2013:
-- Loosen the clamp -2- and remove the coolant hose.
Ignore -1-.
Vehicles from MY 2014:
-- Loosen the hose clamp -arrow- and remove the coolant hose.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Fold the heat shield boot -3- slightly upward.
-- Loosen the hose clamp -top arrow- to remove the bolts -1 and 2- and to remove the coolant hoses for the right coolant pipe from the transmission.
Ignore -bottom arrow-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the heat shield -1-.
-- Remove the bolt -2- and remove the transmission mount from the transmission support.
-- Remove the left and right drive axle from the transmission flange shaft. Refer to Drive Axle, Removing and Installing .
-- Remove the lower cover -1- from the transmission in direction of -arrow-.
-- Position the :T40272 onto the :T40263 .
-- Attach the crankshaft turning tool to the bolts on the vibration damper.
- The semi-round countersink -arrow A- on the :T40272 must face the semi-round countersink -arrow B- on the vibration damper.
Ignore the notch on the :T40272 .
-- Counterhold the crankshaft to loosen the torque converter bolts using the :T40272 and the :T40263 .
When turning the crankshaft, only turn it in the direction of engine rotation -arrow-.
-- Remove the six torque converter bolts -arrow- by turning the crankshaft 60° further in the direction of engine rotation.
-- Equip the :VAS6131B with the Scissor Lift Table - Audi Set:VAS6131/10 and :VAS6131/12 , and :VAS6131/13-7 as follows:
The remaining mounting elements remain unchanged.
