Control Module And Hydraulic Unit, Removing

-- On vehicles with a coded radio, note the code. Retrieve it if necessary.

-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Release the connector from the control module -arrow 1- and remove -arrow 2-.

-- Install the Brake Pedal Actuator:VAG1869/2  .

-- Attach the bleeder bottle bleed hose -1- to the left front brake caliper bleed valve.

-- Open the bleed valve.

-- Attach the bleeder bottle bleed hose -1- to the left rear brake caliper bleed valve.

-- Open the bleed valve.

-- Push the brake pedal with the Brake Pedal Actuator:VAG1869/2  at least 60 mm.

-- Close left front and left rear bleeder valves.

-- Do not remove the Brake Pedal Actuator:VAG1869/2  .

-- Place sufficient lint-free cloths under the control module and hydraulic unit.

Make sure that brake fluid does not come in contact with the terminals.

-- Open and remove the left and right brake line bracket from the hydraulic unit.

-- Identify brake lines and remove at hydraulic unit.

-- Seal the brake lines and threaded holes using the Plugs:1H0 698 311 A  .

-- Remove the hydraulic unit and control module from the shock absorbers.

-- Remove the hydraulic unit from the bracket.
