Engine, Securing On Assembly Stand: Procedure

Engine/transmission assembly removed and separated on Scissor Lift Table:VAS6131B  . Refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .

-- Remove the engine bracket from the cylinder block.

NOTE:

Place a cloth underneath to soak up any escaping power steering fluid.

-- Remove power steering pressure line banjo fitting -arrow-.

-- Remove the electric wire bracket from the A/C compressor -arrow-.

-- Remove engine bracket screws at left and right -arrows-.

NOTE:

Engine carrier remains in installation location.

-- Engage Lifting Tackle:3033  on engine lifting eyes and on Shop Crane:VAS6100  with Lift Arm Extension:VAS6101  as shown in the illustration.

-- Raise engine from engine carrier.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and the connector bracket from the left engine support.

-- Remove the bolts -1 through 4- on the right and on the left and then remove the engine supports.

NOTE:

The left engine support is shown in the illustration.

-- Secure the engine with the Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 TDI Bracket:VAS6095/1-4  to 60 Nm, on the Engine And Transmission Holder:VAS6095  , as shown in the illustration.
