Transmission, Installing: Notes
Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:
-- Make sure the alignment sleeves are pressed into the engine flange.
Make sure the torque converter is installed correctly. It must be easy to turn by hand and the entire circumference must be equally deep inside the transmission.
Carefully rotate the engine further!
Be careful of the engine when guiding the transmission onto the engine. Hold the starter ring gear steady from the outside with a screwdriver. When installing, studs are located in the bores of drive plate.
The engine and the transmission must be installed free of tension.
-- Make sure the transmission mount bracket bolts are in their old position when tightening the bolts to the transmission. Tightening specification, refer to Tightening Specifications .
-- Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .
-- Check the transmission fluid level. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING AND ADDING .
-- Perform a basic setting. Connect the vehicle diagnostic tester and then select "perform basic setting" in Guided Functions .
Install in the reverse order of removal. However, these important steps should be followed:
-- Make sure the alignment sleeves are installed correctly between the engine and transmission.
-- Position the transmission, possibly readjust transmission mount.
-- Now, install a engine to transmission bolt.
-- Install all engine to transmission bolts and tighten them to specification. Refer to Tightening Specifications .
-- Install the transmission mount bracket -2- to the transmission. Bolt tightening specification, refer to Tightening Specifications .
-- Lift the engine and transmission, install the transmission mount to transmission mount bracket bolts -1- and tighten them to specification. Refer to Tightening Specifications .
-- Install the bevel box. Refer to BEVEL BOX .
-- Install the exhaust system. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0A6, 09M] Specifications .
Further installation is in the reverse order of removal.
-- Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .
Do not grease the cable.
-- Install the air filter housing.
-- Check the transmission fluid level. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING AND ADDING .
-- Connect the vehicle diagnostic tester.
-- Press the perform basic setting button and perform a basic setting.
-- Press the → button.
-- Press the → button.
