ATF Cooler, Removing And Installing, Rectangular Version: Removing
-- Move the selector lever into >>P<<.
-- Remove the engine cover with the air filter. Refer to AIR FILTER [For engine(s) DDSB, DDSA] or AIR FILTER [For engine(s) CDVB] or AIR FILTER [For engine(s) CPRA, CPKA] .
-- Remove the battery and the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY .
-- Disconnect the selector lever cable on the clips -arrow-.
Mark the ATF cooler coolant hoses to prevent confusing them when installing them later.
The coolant system is under pressure when the engine is warm.
Cover the coolant reservoir cap with a cloth and open it carefully before removing the coolant hoses.
-- Clamp the coolant hoses with Hose Clamps - Up To 25mm:3094 and remove them from the ATF cooler.
-- Seal the coolant hoses and connections with suitable plugs taken from the Engine Bung Set:VAS6122 .
To remove and install the ATF cooler, the catalytic converter must be removed beforehand. The bolts that are difficult to reach can be loosened and tightened from the bottom.
-- Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM [For engine(s) DDSB, DDSA] or EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM [For engine(s) CVCA] or EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM [For engine(s) CVCA] or EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM [For engine(s) CPRA, CPKA] .
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and take out the ATF cooler.
