Engine, Installing: Notes
This procedure contains mandatory replaceable parts. Refer to component overview and parts iinformation prior to starting procedure.
Mandatory Replacement Parts
- Bolt - Engine Support to Engine
Install in reverse order of removal while noting the following:
Note the following whenever working inside the engine compartment due to limited space:
- Route all lines and cables in their original locations.
- Make sure that there is sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.
-- Make sure there is enough clearance for the subframe and radiator when installing the engine/transmission assembly.
-- Align the engine mount as follows:
- There must be at least 10 mm -a- between the engine support and the right longitudinal member.
- Casting edge on engine support -2- must stand parallel to the support arm -1-.
-- Tighten the bolts for the subframe, engine and engine bracket. Tightening specification: 60 Nm + 1 /4 (90°) additional turn
-- Install the pendulum support.
Subframe mount tightening specifications. Refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME MOUNT .
-- Attach the front exhaust pipe and catalytic converters to the exhaust manifold. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the drive axles. Refer to DRIVE AXLE .
-- Install the right drive axle heat shield
-- Install the A/C compressor. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR .
-- Install the fan shroud. Refer to FAN SHROUD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Reconnect the fuel supply line -1- and the bleeder line -2-. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS .
-- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Reset the service position. Refer to LOCK CARRIER .
-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .
-- Fill with coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Check all DTC memories and erase any faults.
-- Perform a road test.
-- Perform another vehicle system test and correct any faults.
Generate readiness code if DTC memory was erased. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester "Guided Function".
