Car-Net Module Housing Loose at PDI

The Car-Net module housing may be loose underneath the passenger seat. This may be found during PDI or from a customer complaint.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

Cut-outs in the carpet may not have been removed in the factory which prevents the Car-Net module housing from being properly installed.

PRODUCTION SOLUTION

Production is removing the cut-out holes from the carpet to guarantee the correct fixation of the Car-Net module housing as of VIN AJ_HM258458.

SERVICE

Procedure

During PDI inspect the Car-Net module housing which is mounted underneath the passenger front seat (Figure 1).

G11064863

If the module housing is loose, not flat against the floor, or is rubbing the seat fore/aft adjustment lever, check that the pre-perforated cut-outs have been removed from the carpet (Figure 2).

G11064864

Remove the carpet cut-outs if they haven't already been removed and reinstall the module housing by first inserting the tabs on the housing through the cut-outs in the carpet, then pressing the housing down onto the carpet to secure the Velcro fastener (Figures 3 and 4).

G11064865

If the cut-outs have already been removed, ensure the housing is reinstalled properly (Figure 5).
