A/C Compressor, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

-- If equipped, remove the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the right front wheel housing liner. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

NOTE:

The ribbed belt is not completely removed, but rather just removed from the A/C compressor belt pulley.

-- Release the tension on the ribbed belt. For [CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA] Codes, Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING . For [DDSA, DDSB] Codes, Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the ribbed belt from the A/C compressor belt pulley.

Vehicles with Refrigerant R134a

-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to A/C Service Station, DISCHARGING .

Vehicles with Refrigerant R1234yf

-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to the appropriate service information .

CAUTION:

Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.

- Wear safety gloves.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Extract refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.

- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Evaporation can cause pressure to develop in the refrigerant circuit.

NOTE:

Depending on the engine installed, remove the charge air hose.

-- Disconnect the connector from the A/C Compressor Regulator Valve -N280- -3-.

-- Remove the bolts -2-.

-- Remove refrigerant lines from A/C compressor -4-.

-- Seal the refrigerant lines using the :VAS6122  .

-- Remove the bolts -5-.

-- Remove the A/C compressor -4- from the sub-assembly bracket.
