Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

-- Turn off the ignition and all electrical equipment.

-- If equipped remove the ignition key.

-- Remove the instrument panel center frame. Refer to RADIO/NAVIGATION SYSTEM FRAME, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- on the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- -1-.

-- Pull the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- -1- far enough out of the installation slot so that the connectors on the back side are accessible.

-- Squeeze the safety mechanism on the connector -arrows-.

-- Move the locking bracket in direction of the -arrow-. The connector will be pushed out at the same time.

-- Release the safety mechanisms on all the connectors in direction of -arrows- and disconnect the connectors.

-- If equipped, release and disconnect the connector for external multimedia device connector.
