Transmission, Removing And Installing: Installing
-- Check if the alignment sleeves are pressed into the engine flange.
-- Make sure the intermediate plate is seated correctly.
-- Make sure the torque converter is installed correctly. Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Further installation is performed in reverse order of the removal.
-- Lift the transmission carefully with the : 3282 and move it into its installation position.
-- Install the engine/transmission connecting bolts and tighten to the tightening specification.
-- Tighten the six converter nuts -arrow- with the : V/175 .
If a nut falls into the opening for the torque converter, it must be removed again. If necessary, the transmission must be separated from the engine again.
-- Replace all bolts -1 and 2- for the left subframe mount.
-- First install all new bolts by hand.
When installing, first attach the transmission bracket -A- to the transmission using the bolts -1-. Refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME MOUNT .
-- Align the engine/transmission in its installation position. To do so, lift it until the transmission bracket is completely touching the transmission mount.
There is a risk of damaging the threads in the transmission bracket by inserting the bolts at an angle.
- Before installing the bolts -2-, the transmission bracket and transmission mount support arm must be absolutely parallel to each other. If necessary, lift the back of the transmission using the Engine and Gearbox Jack.
Install the engine/transmission mount free of tension. Refer to ENGINE, INSTALLING (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) or ENGINE, INSTALLING (DDSA, DDSB) .
-- Install the new bolts -2- for the left subframe mount in the transmission mount and tighten to the tightening specification. Refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME MOUNT .
Only remove the Engine Support Bridge: 10-222A when all bolts on the right and left side of the subframe mount are tightened to the tightening specification.
-- First install the pendulum support on the transmission -B arrows- with new bolts and then on the subframe -arrow A-. Tightening Specification. Refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME MOUNT (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) or OVERVIEW - ASSEMBLY MOUNT (DDSA, DDSB) .
Attach the driveshafts to the transmission. While doing so, attach the ball joints to the control arms. Refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If removed, install the heat shield over the right driveshaft. Refer to DRIVE AXLE HEAT SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Assemble the exhaust system and attach the exhaust system bracket to the subframe. Refer to OVERVIEW - EMISSIONS CONTROL (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) or OVERVIEW - EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM (DDSA, DDSB) .
-- Install the starter. Refer to STARTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the clamps for the power steering line on the transmission. Refer to OVERVIEW - HYDRAULIC LINES AND RESERVOIR .
-- Connect the coolant hoses to the ATF cooler according the markings made during the removal.
-- Attach the selector lever cable to the transmission and adjust it. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING .
-- Install the plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the lock carrier trim and tighten the left and right lock carrier retaining bracket bolts -arrows-. Refer to OVERVIEW - LOCK CARRIER .
-- Install the battery tray and the battery. Refer to BATTERY TRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING and BATTERY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Check the coolant level and fill if necessary. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) or COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING (DDSA, DDSB) .
-- Check the ATF level. Refer to ATF .
-- Install the left and right front wheel housing liners. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- Attach the wheels. Refer to WHEEL BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .
-- Install the engine cover with the air filter. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) or ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (DDSA, DDSB) .
-- Perform the basic setting. To do so, connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
