Knock Sensor, Removing And Installing: Removing

Component locations. Refer to OVERVIEW - IGNITION SYSTEM .

NOTE:

Install all cable ties and heat shield boots back in the same location when installing.

Knock Sensor 1 -G61- :

-- Remove the generator. Refer to Generator, Removing and Installing .

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Remove the bolt -2- and then the Knock Sensor 1 -G61-.

Knock Sensor 2 -G66- / Knock Sensor 3 -G198- :

-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 2-.

-- Remove the left and right fuel rails. Refer to FUEL INJECTORS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt and remove the appropriate knock sensor:

Knock Sensor 4 -G199- :

-- Completely remove the left front wheel housing liner. Refer to WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the left drive axle heat shield.

-- Remove the left drive axle from the transmission flange shaft. Refer to Drive Axle, Removing and Installing .

-- Remove the heat shield boot -1- by cutting the cable ties.

-- Disconnect the connector -3-.

-- Remove the bolt -2- and then the Knock Sensor 4 -G199-.
