Oil, Filling

-- Clean the area around the oil filler plug -arrow- for the front axle differential lock.

-- Remove the oil filler plug -arrow-.

-- Remove the elbow piece from the :VAS6291 A  .

-- Insert the hose -A- of the :VAS6291A  into the oil fill hole -arrow-.

Oil Capacity And Oil Specification.  Refer to FRONT AXLE DIFFERENTIAL LOCK, CHANGING OIL .

-- With the valve -arrow- closed, screw the oil container -A- onto the :VAS6291A  .

-- Open the valve -arrow- and hold the oil container above the oil fill hole level as shown.

-- Using the :VAS6291A  , fill with oil until it flows out between the hose and the transmission housing.

-- Bring the oil container below the oil fill hole level.

-- Allow the excess oil to flow back into the oil container and close the valve on the :VAS6291A  .

-- Remove the hose and remove the :VAS6291A  .

-- If necessary, let the excess oil flow out until it only drips.

-- Re-install the previously removed elbow piece on the :VAS6291A  and secure it with a hose clamp.

• The oil level is OK if it is up to the lower edge of the oil fill hole.

-- Install the new oil filler plug -arrow- and tighten it to the tightening specification.

Check the specified temperature range while checking the oil level, if while filling an oil temperature between 20 °C to 40 °C (68 °F to 104 °F) cannot be guaranteed.

The oil temperature can be measured using the :VAS6519  .

If the oil temperature is not between 20 °C to 40 °C (68 °F to 104 °F), either drive the vehicle to warm it up or let the oil temperature cool down.
