-- Remove the noise insulation under the engine. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
Depending on the engine type, remove the right front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Depending on the engine, parts of the air filter are to be removed. Refer to [FOR ENGINE(S) CNSB, CNSA, CXBB, CXBA, CXCB, CXCA]OVERVIEW - AIR FILTER HOUSING or OVERVIEW - AIR FILTER HOUSING [FOR ENGINE(S) CRUA] .
Depending on the engine, parts of the air routing are to be removed. Refer to OVERVIEW - INTAKE MANIFOLD [FOR ENGINE(S) CNSB, CNSA, CXBB, CXBA, CXCB, CXCA] or OVERVIEW - INTAKE MANIFOLD [FOR ENGINE(S) CRUA] .
Depending on the engine, charge air system components are to be removed from the air routing. Refer to OVERVIEW - CHARGE AIR SYSTEM [FOR ENGINE(S) CNSB, CNSA, CXBB, CXBA, CXCB, CXCA] and OVERVIEW - CHARGE AIR SYSTEM [FOR ENGINE(S) CRUA] .
-- Release the tension on the ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [FOR ENGINE(S) CNSB, CNSA, CXBB, CXBA, CXCB, CXCA] and RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [FOR ENGINE(S) CRUA] .
-- Remove the ribbed belt from the A/C compressor belt pulley.
Vehicles With Refrigerant R134a
-- Drain the refrigerant circuit. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, DISCHARGING WITH A/C SERVICE STATION and/or REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, EVACUATING WITH A/C SERVICE STATION .
Vehicles With Refrigerant R1234yf
-- Drain the refrigerant circuit. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, DISCHARGING and or REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, EVACUATING .
Continuation For All Vehicles
Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Extract refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Evaporation can cause pressure to develop in the refrigerant circuit.
-- Remove the bolts -3- and disconnect the refrigerant lines -2 and 4- from the A/C compressor -1-.
-- Disconnect the connector -6- from the A/C compressor -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -5- and remove the A/C compressor -1-.
-- Seal the refrigerant lines using the :VAS6122 .
