Engine Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Volkswagen Golf. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:

Pay attention when removing and installing the engine cover so that the fuel return line is not hit. Make sure not to inadvertently grab the fuel return line. This could result in damage to the connections on the injectors. This results in leaks in the fuel system.

-- Carefully pull the engine cover off the retaining pins one after the other in direction of -arrows-. Do not pull sharply on the engine cover or pull it to one side.
