ATF Cooler, Round Version: Removing
-- Move the selector lever into >>P<<.
-- Remove the engine cover by gently pull the engine cover up, and the air filter. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING .
-- Disconnect the hoses -arrows- and remove the intake hose from the throttle valve.
-- Unclip the Transmission Control Module -J217- -3- at the top of the bracket -7- and remove it upward.
-- Release the connector -2- and remove it from the Transmission Control Module -J217-.
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 6-.
-- Move the bracket -7- with the power steering fluid reservoir to the side. Pay attention to the electric wires -4 and 5-.
The hoses remain attached to the power steering fluid reservoir.
-- Remove the battery. Refer to [For engine(s) CVCA,CPRA,CBTA,CPKA,CPLA,CJAA,CBUA,CPPA,CCTA,CBFA] Removal and Installation .
-- Remove the battery tray. Refer to [For engine(s) CVCA,CPRA,CBTA,CPKA,CPLA,CJAA,CBUA,CPPA,CCTA,CBFA] Removal and Installation .
The coolant system is under pressure when the engine is warm.
Cover the cap on the reservoir with a cloth and open it carefully before removing the coolant hoses.
Mark the ATF cooler coolant hoses to prevent confusing them when installing them later.
-- Clamp the coolant hoses to the ATF cooler with Hose Clamps - Up To 25 mm 3094 and Hose Clamps - Up To 40 mm 3093.
-- Open the spring clamps -A- and pull the coolant hoses -B and C- off the ATF cooler.
-- Seal the coolant hoses and connections with plugs taken from the Engine Bung Set VAS 6122.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow A- and pull the ATF cooler -1- and O-ring off the transmission.
