ATF Level, Checking: Checking

-- Turn off the engine.

The ATF temperature must not be more than approximately 30°C at start of test.

-- Vehicle Diagnosis Tester Connect and move through selections until it is ready for operation. Refer to WORKING WITH A TESTER .

-- Press Guided Functions  .

-- Select the vehicle, and the transmission.

-- Select check ATF level  .

-- Press the →  button.

-- Start the engine.

-- Lift the vehicle.

-- Place the Shop Crane - Drip Tray VAS 6208 under the transmission.

-- Press the →  button.

If the test temperature 35°C to 45°C is displayed:

-- Remove the ATF check plug from the ATF pan.

ATF flows out of the overflow pipe.

If ATF continues to leak out of hole:

ATF does not need to be topped off.

-- Install the ATF inspection plug with a new seal. The ATF level test is now completed.

If no oil drips out of the hole:

-- Fill the ATF.
