19.8.2 Requirements For Calibrating
Preparations must be made before the calibration procedure can be performed with the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Requirements
- Make sure the camera lens is not dirty. Clean it if necessary.
- Check the pictures from the individual cameras on the radio/navigation system screen. If the camera picture is not clear because the camera lens is damaged, replace the camera. If the camera picture is too low, check the camera mounting.
- Make sure both exterior mirrors are folded out.
- Place vehicle on a solid, level surface.
- Make sure there is at least 2 meters open space all around the vehicle being calibrated.
- Depending on the vehicle equipment level, set the dampening level to "Comfort" using the control in the center console.
- Set the suspension level to "Normal" and then to "vehicle lift mode". Refer to the appropriate service maintenance information.
- Engage the parking brake - the vehicle must not move during calibration.
- Connect a battery charger to prevent the battery from getting discharged.
- Switch on the ignition.
- No persons may be in the vehicle interior during the calibration.
- Do not open and close the vehicle doors during calibration.
- Make sure the vehicle is at curb weight 2)
.NOTE: The specifications for measuring and distances while performing the preparation work for the calibration is based on a vehicle having its original tires.
2) Curb weight means: the weight of the vehicle when it is ready for driving (full fuel tank, spare wheel, vehicle tool kit, vehicle jack).
