Transmission Control Module -J217-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

NOTE:

The control module identification and coding is needed only if the transmission control module is being replaced.

-- Obtain the control module identification and coding for the Transmission Control Module -J217-.

-- Move the seat as far forward as possible.

-- Remove the rear bolts -2 and 3-.

-- Move the seat as far back as possible.

-- Remove the front bolts -4 and 1-.

-- Fold the seat to the rear.

-- Pull the carpet under the seat forward.

Remove both the Transmission Control Module -J217- -1- and the housing together and then separate them.

NOTE:

Ignore item -2-.

-- Disconnect the connector from the Transmission Control Module -J217- -1-.

-- Remove the bolt -upper arrow- and pull the housing with the control module out of the mount.

NOTE:

Ignore the nut -lower arrow-.

-- Pull the retaining tabs outward in direction of -arrows 1- and pull the control module out of the housing in direction of -arrow 2-.
