Selector Lever Handle, Removing And Installing: Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order while observing the following:

NOTE:

There is the possibility that the button can be pressed into the handle. Never install the handle when the button is pressed in.

A new handle is delivered with an assembly fastener. Pull out the safety catch in the direction of -arrow- just before installing.

-- Install the handle on the selector lever with a new ear clamp until it snaps into place. Do not tighten the ear clamp yet.

-- Push the button in the selector lever handle.

NOTE:

If the button stays in the handle after being pressed, this means it was installed incorrectly. If this happens, remove the handle again and move the button in the installation position again. Refer to BUTTON IN HANDLE, MOVING INTO INSTALLATION POSITION . Install the handle again.

-- If the button returns to its starting position after being pressed, the ear clamp -arrow- can be fastened using the : VAG1275A  .

-- Connect the connector.

-- Clip on the cover.
