17.2.1 Lane Change Assistance Control Module With Radar Sensor, Removing And Installing
The left Lane Change Assistance Control Module - J769- (master) or right Lane Change Assistance Control Module 2 - J770- (slave) is combined in one unit with the radar sensor for the respective side. The Lane Change Assistance Control Modules are located at the left and right behind the bumper cover.
Removing
NOTE:
- The following describes the removal and installation of the right Lane Change Assistance Control Module 2 - J770-. The removal and installation of the left Lane Change Assistance Control Module - J769- is done in the same way.
- If both Lane Change Assistance Control Modules or only the left Lane Change Assistance Control Module - J769- (master) is replaced, the lane change assistance system must be first coded and then calibrated after completing the assembly work. Refer to 17.4 Side Assist, Calibrating
- If only the (right) Lane Change Assistance Control Module 2 - J770- (slave) is replaced, then the lane change assistance system must only be calibrated (refer to 17.4 Side Assist, Calibrating ) after completing the assembly work.
- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.
- Remove the rear bumper cover. Refer to Body Exterior (Rear Bumper Cover; Rear Bumper Cover).
- Release and disconnect the connector -1-.
- Remove the 3 screws -2- and the Lane Change Assistance Control Module -3- from the bracket -1-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Tighten the three screws on the Lane Change Assistance Control Module -2- to 2.5 Nm.
- Calibrate the side assist lane change assistance system after completing assembly work. Refer to 17.4 Side Assist, Calibrating
