Battery In Engine Compartment, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Disconnect the Battery -A-. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT .

-- For diesel vehicles, remove the air filter housing and connecting pipe. Refer to AIR FILTER .

-- Loosen the nut on the battery positive cable terminal clamp -2- several turns.

-- Remove the battery positive cable terminal clamp -2- from the Battery -A- -1-.

-- Remove the bolt -2-.

-- For vehicles with NOx Sensor Control Module -GX30-, move the clamping plate with the NOx Sensor Control Module -GX30- and bracket to the side.

-- For all other vehicles, remove the clamping plate.

-- Remove the Battery -A- -1-.
