Battery In Engine Compartment, Removing And Installing: Installing

CAUTION:

A loosely mounted battery may cause the following hazards:

  • Shortened service life due to vibration damage (explosion hazard).
  • If the battery is not secured properly, the plates within the battery can be damaged.
  • Damage to the battery housing caused by the bracket (possible electrolyte leakage, high subsequent costs).
  • Inadequate crash safety.

Pay attention to the replacement part identification when replacing the battery, especially for vehicles with the Start/Stop System.

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

-- Check the battery for secure fit after installation.

-- Connect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT .

-- After replacing, the battery must be adapted with the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to BATTERY, ADAPTING .
