Display Control Head Component Location (CLIMATRONIC)

NOTE:
Depending on the vehicle equipment level, not all buttons are used and may vary in location.
- Left Temperature Display
- Shows the set temperature for the driver side.
- Left Seat Heating Button
- The LED turns on when the system is active.
- The seat heating has three settings. An LED indicates which setting is selected.
- Windshield Air Distribution Button
- The LED turns on when the system is active.
- Center Air Distribution Button
- Air distribution to the upper body via the center air vents.
- The LED turns on when the system is active.
- Lower Air Distribution Button
- Air distribution into the footwell.
- The LED turns on when the system is active.
- Air Recirculation Button
- The LED turns on when the system is active.
- Manual and automatic recirculating air mode.
- By pressing the button the recirculating air mode is switched on and prevents polluted air from entering the passenger compartment.NOTE:
Recirculating air mode is switched on automatically under the following conditions:
When the windshield washer system is operated.
When the Air Quality Sensor -G238- is activated.
When the reverse gear is engaged (this function is only active for two minutes after the engine is started).
Blower speed on the Front A/C Display Control Head -E87- is off.
The Front A/C Display Control Head -E87- is "OFF".
- Right Seat Heating Button
- The LED turns on when the system is active.
- The seat heating has three settings. An LED indicates which setting is selected.
- Right Temperature Display
- Shows the temperature set for the front passenger side.
- Right Temperature Control
- The selected temperature is shown in the display.
- AC
Button
- The LED turns on when the system is active.
- If the AC button is deactivated, the A/C compressor is set to almost zero delivery. If the AUTO button is activated, the heating and ventilation mode continues to be controlled electronically.
- MAX AC
Button
- The LED turns on when the system is active.
- The A/C system runs at the maximum cooling output.
- Sync
Button
- The LED turns on when the system is active.
- The current driver side temperature setting is applied to the front passenger side.
- Blower Control
- By turning the knob, the blower speed can be adjusted individually.
- If the blower speed is adjusted individually, the AUTO function is automatically deactivated.
- AUTO
Button
- The LED turns on when the system is active.
- In automatic mode the Climatronic maintains the selected vehicle temperature automatically. The air temperature, the blower speed and the air distribution are adjusted automatically.
- OFF
Button
- By pressing the OFF button, the heating and A/C function is deactivated.
- Left Temperature Control
- The selected temperature is shown in the display.
- Rear Window Defogger Button
- The LED turns on when the system is active.
- It only works when the engine is running and turns itself off after ten minutes.
- Max Defrost Button
- The air drawn in from the outside is directed to the windshield causing the recirculating air mode to be shut off automatically.
- In order to remove fog from front windshield as quickly as possible, the air temperature must be above 1.5 °C (+ 35 °F) and the blower must set to the highest speed.
