Selector Mechanism: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

NOTE:

Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

Do not lubricate the selector lever cable.

-- Install the heat shield under the shift mechanism.

-- Reconnect exhaust system making sure it is not under stress. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, ALIGNING FREE OF TENSION .

-- Install the front and rear tunnel braces on the body. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Install the center console. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Install the selector lever handle. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE .

-- Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING .

-- Check the selector mechanism. Refer to GEARSHIFT MECHANISM, CHECKING .

-- Install the complete air filter housing:

-- Install the engine cover, if it was removed earlier. Refer to Installing .
