- Brake Booster with Master Brake Cylinder
- Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - BRAKE BOOSTER/BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER .
- The required vacuum is supplied either by the intake manifold or by a vacuum pump.
- Functional check:
-- Forcefully press brake pedal several times with engine switched off. This dissipates any vacuum present in the unit.
-- Depress and hold brake pedal with average foot pressure and start engine. If brake booster is working properly, pedal will be felt to give noticeably under foot (booster assistance becomes effective).
- Replace the complete brake booster if there are faults.
- Vacuum System, Checking. Refer to VACUUM SYSTEM, CHECKING .
- Brake booster, removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE BOOSTER .
- Brake master cylinder, removing and installing. Refer to OVERVIEW - BRAKE BOOSTER/BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER .
