Boot, Removing And Installing: Installing

Replace the sealing rings -item 7- OVERVIEW - POWER STEERING GEAR List Item:Seal on the steering gear.

Before installing, the steering rack must be coated with the Steering Gear Grease:AOF 063 000 04 supplied in the repair kit.

CAUTION:

Never use any other grease.

For this purpose, turn steering to stop toward both sides in succession.

-- Grease the steering rack on the toothed side with the Steering Gear Grease:AOF 063 000 04 .

-- Turn steering wheel into straight ahead position.

-- Slide the boot onto the tie rod and the steering gear and secure with new clamps -arrows-.

-- Install the tie rod end. Refer to TIE ROD END, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the wheel and tighten. Refer to WHEEL BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .
