ABS Control Module -J104- AND ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:

NOTE:

Remove the plugs on the new ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- only when installing the corresponding brake line.

If the plugs were already removed from the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-, brake fluid can leak; adequate filling and bleeding can no longer be guaranteed.

When installing the mount, make sure the rubber bushing does not push out of the bracket. Make sure the hydraulic unit is secure after installing it, otherwise malfunctions can occur.

-- Connect the battery. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0A4, 2E, 9G, 2Q] Removal and Installation .

-- Remove Brake Pedal Actuator VAG1869/2.

-- Bleeding hydraulic system. Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, BLEEDING .

If a new ABS Control Module -J104- was installed, it must be coded.

Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

If a new ABS Control Module was installed, it must be coded.

Use the vehicle diagnostic tester.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Remove the plugs on the new ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- only when installing the corresponding brake line.

Brake fluid will leak out if the plugs were removed too early from the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-. It is thus not guaranteed that filling and bleeding will be adequate.

When installing the mount, make sure the rubber bushing does not push out of the bracket. Make sure the hydraulic unit is secure after installing it, otherwise malfunctions can occur.

-- Connect the battery. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0A4, 2E, 9G, 2Q] Removal and Installation .

-- Remove the Brake Pedal Actuator V.A.G 1869/2.

-- Bleed the hydraulic system. Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, BLEEDING .

Perform a basic setting on the Steering Angle Sensor -G85-, the Transverse Acceleration Sensor -G200- and the Brake Pressure Sensor 1 - G201- after installing the ABS Control Module -J104- and the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-.

Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

If a new ABS Control Module -J104- was installed, it must be coded.

Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Replace the seals, self-locking nuts and the particulate filter clamp.

Reinstall the cable ties and wires back in their original location.

Pay attention to the installation sequence.

CAUTION:

Before installing the engine cover, make sure the four mounting elements (ball sockets) are correctly positioned; adjust them if necessary. Otherwise the engine cover will get damaged.

-- Align the exhaust system without tension. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0A4, 2E, 2Q] Description and Operation .

-- Connect the battery. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0A4, 2E, 9G, 2Q] Removal and Installation .

-- Remove the Brake Pedal Actuator VAG1869/2.

-- Bleed the hydraulic system. Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, BLEEDING .

Perform a basic setting on the Steering Angle Sensor -G85-, the Transverse Acceleration Sensor -G200- and the Brake Pressure Sensor 1 - G201- after installing the ABS Control Module -J104- and the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-.

Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

If a new ABS Control Module was installed, it must be coded.

Use the vehicle diagnostic tester.

If a new ABS Control Module -J104- was installed, it must be coded.

Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
