Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION System Components Overview
NOTE:
Replace the self-locking nuts, the seals, the gaskets and clamps.
Hoses are secured with spring-type clips.
Hose clip pliers VAS 6362 or VAS 6340 are recommended for installing spring clamps.
- Gasket
- Always replace.
- Pay attention to the installed position.
- Connecting Pipe
- To remove and install, also loosen the connecting piece on the turbocharger, see -item 33- in the TURBOCHARGER AND ATTACHMENTS OVERVIEW .

- Seal
- Replace if damaged.
- 8 Nm
- Radiator
- For Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system
- Nut
- 23 Nm
- Installed on the stud bolt on the turbocharger.
- Control Line
- 23 Nm
- Do not change the angles of the control line.
- For the exhaust pressure sensor 1 -G450-, installed location: near the oil filler tube.
- To loosen at the housing remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) filter.
- Install without tension.
- Filter
- For the EGR system.
- Nut
- 23 Nm
- Secure on the exhaust manifold with the heat shield.
- to the Particulate Filter
- Securing Clamp
- 3.5 Nm
- Always replace.
- Note the installed position. Refer to CLAMPS AND EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR, INSTALLED POSITIONS .
- Bolt
- 23 Nm
- Valve 2 for EGR -N213-
- Mark the installed position before removing.
- Always clean the fitting area on the valve and housing and lubricate lightly if necessary.
- Coolant Hose
- Make sure it is secure.
- Coolant hose connection diagram, refer to COOLANT HOSE CONNECTION DIAGRAM .
- Housing
- For the EGR system.
- EGR Temperature Sensor -G98-
- 20 Nm
- Cut out the gasket and replace if it is damaged or leaks.
- Follow the tightening specifications
- Removing and installing, refer to EGR Temperature Sensor -G98- .
