Selector Lever Handle

Short Description: 

There are different handles depending on the model.

For all handles, there is the possibility that the button can be pressed into the handle. Never install the handle when the button is pressed in.

The handle is removed together with the shift cover.

Removing 

-- Move the selector lever into the "D" position.

Handle with the Button on the Side:

-- Pull the button out of the handle just far enough until there is a small gap between the handle and the button. The button locks when released.

-- Prevent the button from being pressed in using a cable tie or wire.

Handle with the Button in the Front:

It is not necessary to pull out the button manually. The button locks in the installed position -arrow-. when the handle is removed.

-- Remove the cover.

-- Disconnect the connector from the selector cover.

-- Push the sleeve upward and unlock the handle.

-- Remove the handle from the selector lever without pushing the button.

NOTE:

Do not push the button once the handle has been removed otherwise it will not be possible to install the handle again.

Installing 

-- Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Handle with the Button in the Front:

If the button was pushed in by mistake, the installed position can be set again.

-- Move the button into the installed position. Refer to HANDLE BUTTON, MOVING INTO THE INSTALLED POSITION .

NOTE:

A new handle is delivered with an assembly aid. Pull out the assembly aid just prior to installation.

If the button was pushed in by mistake, the installed position can be set again. To do this, press the button and push the assembly aid all the way in, release the button and then pull the assembly aid back out again. The button engages in the installed position.

Continuation for all Handles: 

-- Install the handle all the way onto the selector lever and secure it.

-- Push the sleeve down to secure it.

-- Push the button inside the selector lever handle after it has been installed.

NOTE:

If the button stays in the handle after being pressed, this means it was installed incorrectly. When this happen, the handle must be reinstalled again. Remove the handle from the selector lever, move the button into its installed position and then reinstall the handle again.

Further installation is performed in the reverse sequence.
