SERVICE INFORMATION

2014 CC, Eos, Passat, Tiguan - Car-Net Operating Control Unit (Address Word 75) Not Available in ODIS Self-Test Menu

August 2, 2013: Update to Information.

On some 2014 Volkswagen vehicles equipped with CarNet, ODIS may not display 75 - Emergency call module & comm unit  in the self-test menu. Users may also receive an error message when running OCU function tests. To correct these issues, a file within ODIS must be updated and a Hotfix needs to be installed.

NOTE: The file update needs to run one time for each tester. The Hotfix will need to be installed each time ODIS is restarted when servicing the 75 - Emergency call module & comm unit system.

This update applies to 2014 Volkswagen vehicles except Jetta and Beetle, when using ODIS version 1.2.1 or  2.0.0

To update the tester, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to ServiceNet to download the update package.

Go to VW/Workshop Equipment/Offboard Diagnostic Information System Service (ODIS Service)/ODIS Service/Software. Click the link for the ODIS software version being used.

  2. Downloaded file will be Hotfix_ODIS_1.2.1.zip or Hotfix_ODIS_2.0.0.zip  .
  3. Extract the files to the tester desktop.

Extracted files will be in a folder with the same name as the original .zip file (Hotfix_ODIS_1.2.1  or Hotfix_ODIS_2.0.0  ).

  4. Version 1.2.1 ONLY (Skip to step 5 if using version 2.0.0): If necessary, close the ODIS application.

Copy the file de.volkswagen.odis.vaudas.gfs.zecret_4.13.19.jar  from the HotfixVW11_2653_192200 folder  (found inside the Hotfix_ODIS_1.2.1  folder) to the directory

    C:\Program Files\Offboard_Diagnostic_Information_System_Service\Plugins.
