Selector Lever Cable, Checking And Adjusting: Adjusting

-- Move the selector lever into the "P" position.

Moving the selector shaft lever into the "P" position.

The selector shaft lever must be pushed all the way back.

-- Pull the selector shaft lever forward.

-- Push the selector shaft lever to the rear -arrow-.

The "P" position is the second detent.

NOTE:

Make sure the transmission is in the "P" position (parking lock is engaged) if raising the vehicle. It must not be possible to turn the front wheels.

The transmission is also in the "P" position if the vehicle does not move with the wheels spinning freely.

-- Install the cable with a loose adjustment bolt -arrow- and new lock washers -A and B-, if they were removed earlier.

-- Lightly tap the handle button forward and backward and make sure to keep handle in the "P" position.

-- Tighten the adjustment bolt -arrow- to 13 Nm.

This ends the adjustment.
