U0429 - Implausible Data Received From Steering Control Module

- >>When Monitored:<< Continuously with the ignition ON, one valid CAN message received at least once, and no U0002-CAN C Bus off Performance DTC present.
- >>Set Condition:<< When the anti lock brake module detects an incorrect CAN message from the SCM (steering angle sensor or SAS) for approximately 200 mSec.

Test Step 1 - Test if Steering Angle Sensor DTCs are Present
- With the scan tool, read Steering Angle Sensor DTCs.
Are there any Steering Angle Sensor DTCs present?
Yes
- For the Steering Angle Sensor Electrical Diagnostics. Refer to BRAKE SYSTEM DTC BASED DIAGNOSTICS (B1783-01 TO U140E-00) .
No
- Replace the anti lock brake module. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform ABS Verification Test. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST (2009 - 2011) or ABS VERIFICATION TEST (2012 & UP) .
