Shift Cable Adjustment And Verification: Adjustment

-- Park the vehicle on level ground and set the parking brake.

-- Place the shift lever in the park position and remove the ignition key.

-- Loosen the cable adjustment screw at the transmission manual valve lever.

-- Place the shift lever fully forward to the park position detent.

-- Release the park brake, then rock the vehicle to assure it is in park. Reset the park brake.

-- Tighten the cable adjustment screw to 8 Nm (71 in lbs). The shift cable should now be properly adjusted.

-- Verify adjustment by using the verification procedure.
