-- If it is not damaged, lubricate lightly it with High Temperature Grease G 052 133 A2.

-- Transmission pins (not splines) must also be lightly lubricated.

-- Make sure both alignment sleeves between the engine and the transmission fit correctly.

-- Make sure the intermediate plate fits correctly.

Pay attention to the selector lever cable when lifting the transmission. Guide the cable into the cable bracket as early as possible.

The cable is not lubricated.

Guide the engine and transmission together by hand until the entire surface of both flanges come into contact with one another.

-- Adjust the transmission mount until the engine and transmission are aligned.

-- Rotate the crankshaft slightly if necessary.

-- Install the transmission without pinching any wires.

-- Attach the transmission to the engine. tightening specifications, refer to TRANSMISSION TO ENGINE BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .

Install the transmission mount bracket/mount as follows:

-- Replace all the bolts -1 and 2- for the bracket/mount.

-- Install all the bolts first hand tight.

-- Tighten the transmission mount bracket -A- to transmission bolts -1- to specification, refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS OVERVIEW .

-- Align the engine/transmission in its installed position. Lift until the transmission mount bracket is touching the transmission mount completely.

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the threads in the transmission mount bracket by installing the bolts crooked.

  • Before installing the bolts -2-, the transmission mount bracket and transmission mount support arm must be absolutely parallel to each other. If necessary, lift the back of the transmission using the engine-/gearbox jack.

Install the transmission mount free of tension, refer to one of the following:
