Exhaust System, Separating And Connecting

NOTE:

A separating point has been provided in the connecting pipe for removing, installing and individual replacement of the center or rear mufflers.

The separating point is marked by a depression around the circumference of the exhaust pipe.

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Conditions:

Separating 

WARNING:

To prevent injuries from metal shavings, wear protective goggles and protective clothing.

-- Cut the exhaust pipe at the separation point -arrow 2- using for example, the body saw V.A.G 1523 A or the chain pipe cutter VAS 6254 at a right angle.

Joining 

-- During installation, position the repair clamping sleeve. Refer to CLAMPING SLEEVE INSTALLED POSITION .

-- When installing the clamping sleeve, ensure that the bolt end -arrow- does not project beyond the lower edge of clamping sleeve:

Tailpipe, Aligning

-- Align the rear muffler so that the distance -a- between the bumper cut out and the tailpipes are uniform on the left and right.
