Transmission Fluid, Checking

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

For the correct transmission fluid specification.

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Remove the filler plug for checking the transmission fluid level -arrow-.

The level is correct when the transmission fluid comes up to the bottom edge of the filler hole.

-- Install the plug -arrow- with a new seal.

-- Tighten the plug -arrow- to specification. Refer to Fig 2.

Note the following when filling for the first time:

-- Remove the filler plug -arrow-.

-- Add transmission fluid until it reaches the lower edge of the filler hole.

-- Install the filler plug -arrow- with a new seal.

-- Tighten the filler plug -arrow- to specification. Refer to Fig 2.

-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to Removal and Installation .

I - Fluid filler or drain plug with a multipoint socket head, 45 Nm

II - Fluid filler or drain plug with a hex socket head, 30 Nm
