Infotainment System, How To Clear Fault Code 03276 - Check Software Version Management

After replacing an infotainment control module the entry "Check software version management" (fault code P03276) is logged.

DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES

DO NOT diagnose or replace components due to this fault before performing the update function as explained in this bulletin.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

After replacing a control module in the Infotainment System all other control modules of the system must be checked. This is in addition to the guided fault finding procedure (e.g. "Replace J794 control unit") to ensure the infotainment works correctly.

The Infotainment System includes the following control modules:

Infotainment Module - AW 5F (Located in glove box area)
Radio Module - AW 56 (Located in right rear of vehicle)
Amplifier - AW 47 (if equipped)
Multimedia Interface (MDI) - AW 0E (Located in glove box area)
Instrument Cluster - AW 17
Touch Screen - AW 5F (sub-module of 5F)

PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: VAS Tester must have an internet connection to complete the procedure.

NOTE: Prior to launching VAS-PC application and starting this procedure, confirm tester screen saver and power settings in accordance with Special Tools and Equipment - Service Information Circular # VSE-08-18. Failure to do so may result in the tester entering power save mode during data transfer, and subsequent control module failure.

When using a VAS 6150, 5051B or 5052A tester in conjunction with a VAS 5054A wireless transmitter head for a flash procedure, please connect a USB cable between the transmitter head and the tester. Failure to do so may lead to errors during the flash procedure.

Connect Midtronics InCharge 940 (INC 940) Tester/Charger to vehicle's battery if not done so already
Test plan 5F - Installation status test/reset DTC memory will be shown:
Follow the test plan. When instructed, enter in code 3380
DTC 03276 will be erased once the test plan is complete
