The input speed sensor (1) is a two wire magnetic pickup device that generates alternating current signals as rotation occurs.

The input speed sensor (1) is bolted to the case and uses a O-ring (2) to seal it to the case.

The input speed sensor (1) is located at the top of the case, and reads the turbine speed from the input clutch hub.
