Shift Cable: Removing

-- Remove the instrument panel knee bolster. Refer to Removal and Installation .

NOTE: Ensure that the lock tab on the shift cable (2) is depressed before pulling the cable from the shift lever housing.

-- Remove the cable from the shift lever (1 and 2).

-- Disconnect the shift cable (1) from the transmission manual valve lever (2).

-- Disconnect the shift cable from the bracket.

-- Remove the grommet from the bulkhead.

-- Pull the cable (2) through the bulkhead (1) into the passenger compartment.
