Accelerator pedal is hard to push down or has a rough or sticky feel	Damaged accelerator cable	NOTE: Do not lubricate the accelerator cable. INSTALL a new accelerator cable. REFER to Accelerator Cable - 2.3L or Accelerator Cable - 3.0L (4V) .
	Accelerator cable	CHECK the accelerator cable for correct installation.
	Worn or damaged throttle body	INSTALL a new throttle body. REFER to FUEL CHARGING AND CONTROLS - 2.3L article or FUEL CHARGING AND CONTROLS - 3.0L (4V) article.
	Damaged accelerator pedal and shaft	INSTALL a new accelerator pedal and shaft. REFER to Accelerator Pedal and Shaft .
Accelerator pedal shaft lever sticks (does not return freely)	Damaged accelerator cable	INSTALL a new accelerator cable. REFER to Accelerator Cable - 2.3L or Accelerator Cable - 3.0L (4V) .
