Passenger Air Bag Module: Installation

- Remove or position anything aside that may be blocking the accessibility to the passenger air bag alignment rails.
- Check passenger air bag alignment locators and J-nuts for damage, repair as needed.
- Install the passenger air bag module.
- Position the passenger air bag module alignment locators to the alignment rails of the instrument panel.
- Align the passenger air bag module deployment door tabs.
- When all tabs and locators are aligned, slide and engage the passenger air bag module into the instrument panel.
- Install the 2 passenger air bag module bolts.
- Tighten bolts to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
- Connect the passenger air bag module electrical connector.
- Install the inner RH lower instrument panel reinforcement mounting bracket and the 6 bolts.
- Install the RH lower instrument panel reinforcement and the 4 bolts.
- Install the RH lower instrument trim panel.
- Repower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering .
NOTE:
During air bag module installation, make sure all the deployment door tabs are fully seated into the instrument panel.
