Test Step 3 - Inverter Module
- Turn the ignition OFF.
- Connect the TIPM harness connector.
- Using a test lamp connected to ground, probe the inverter enable switch signal circuit at the inverter module harness connector.
- Using the scan tool, actuate the inverter enable control.
NOTE:
The test lamp should be illuminated and bright. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test lamp illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Replace the inverter module. Refer to POWER INVERTER MODULE .
- Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the totally integrated power module. Refer to TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE .
- Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Turn the ignition off.
- Reconnect the TIPM C7 harness connector.
- Using a test light connected to ground, probe the (P805) Inverter Enable Switch Signal circuit at the Inverter Module harness connector.
- Using the scan tool, actuate the Inverter Enable control.
NOTE:
The test light should be illuminated and bright. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Replace the Inverter Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the TIPM. Refer to [For engine(s) CJRA, CGUA, CGVA] Removal and Installation .
- Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
