Open Refrigerant Circuit

Work performed on the refrigerant circuit that requires the circuit to be opened must only be performed by trained personnel.

Service work in the A/C system, for which it is necessary to drain the refrigerant circuit, is described under 87 AIR CONDITIONING .

Specific tools are required to discharge the refrigerant circuit.

If the tools are not available, it may be necessary to bring the vehicle to a workshop where the required tools can be accessed and the corresponding work can be performed by qualified personnel.

Additional information concerning repair work on climatized vehicles, the handling of refrigerant and the flushing of the circuit is to be observed, refer to Refrigerant R134a Vapor Pressure Table .

WARNING:

Danger due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

Danger of frost bite to skin and other parts of the body.

  • Extract the refrigerant and immediately open the refrigerant circuit after that.
  • If the refrigerant was extracted more than 10 minutes in the past and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Pressure in the refrigerant circuit is caused by evaporation.
