ATF Cooler, Rectangular Version: Removing
-- Move the selector lever into "P".
-- Remove the engine cover and the air filter. Refer to[For engine(s) CPRA,CPKA] Removal and Installation[For engine(s) CBTA,CBUA] Removal and Installation .
-- Remove the battery and the battery tray. Refer to [For engine(s) CVCA,CDVB,CPRA,CBTA,CPKA,CKRA,CBUA] Removal and Installation .
-- Disconnect the selector lever cable on the retaining clip -arrow-.
Mark the ATF cooler coolant hoses to prevent confusing them when installing them later.
The coolant system is under pressure when the engine is warm.
Cover the cap on the reservoir with a cloth and open it carefully before removing the coolant hoses.
-- Clamp off the coolant hoses with Hose Clamps up to 25 mm 3094 and remove the hoses from the ATF cooler.
-- Seal the coolant hoses and connections with plugs taken from Engine Bung Set VAS6122.
To remove and install the ATF cooler, the catalytic converter must first be removed. This allows the bolts that are difficult to reach from below to be loosened and tightened.
-- Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to [For engine(s) CBTA,CBUA] Removal and Installation[For engine(s) CVCA] Removal and Installation[For engine(s) CPRA,CPKA] Removal and Installation .
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and take out the ATF cooler.
