Refrigerant Circuit Components: Condenser: Removing
-- Turn off all electric consumers.
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Remove the key.
There is a danger of ice-up.
Refrigerant leaks out if refrigerant circuit is not discharged.
Refrigerant must be extracted before opening the refrigerant circuit. If refrigerant circuit is not opened within 10 minutes of extraction, pressure may form in refrigerant circuit due to evaporation. Extract refrigerant once more.
-- Extract refrigerant using Robinair A/C Service Unit ROB134APF.
Environmentally hazardous draining of refrigerant is an offense punishable by law.
-- Remove the front bumper, refer to Removal and Installation .
-- Move the lock carrier into the service position, refer to Description and Operation .
-- Remove refrigerant pipes/hoses at condenser and seal.
-- Remove the bolts (12 Nm) -8-.
-- Remove the refrigerant lines -7- from the connection and reseal with a suitable sealant.
-- Remove the bolts (5 Nm) -1-.
-- Move the radiator to the rear.
-- Remove the condenser -2- upward.
Note the diagram for installing the clips for the stone chip protective molding.
-- If equipped, remove the stone chip protective molding -5- by loosening the clips -6-.
