Remote Start: Notes
Unintentional or unsupervised use of the remote-start can cause serious personal injury.
Never start the engine in closed areas, for example, in garages. The exhaust fumes can cause death through suffocation.
Use the remote-start feature only when no one is inside the vehicle.
Keep all persons and children out of the vehicle when using the remote-start.
Never start the engine when children or pets are inside the vehicle. The power seats, for example, can be operated while the engine is running, causing serious personal injury.
Never start the engine if the vehicle is covered with a tarp. Hot vehicle components and the exhaust gases could set the tarp on fire and cause serious personal injury.
Never start the engine near flammable materials or materials that could explode. The exhaust fumes can set materials on fire. This can cause serious personal injury.
Never start the engine if the vehicle is not within sight.
Never start the engine if the engine warning lamp is on or is blinking.
It is possible to start the engine remotely using the remote-start feature in order to warm up or cool down the inside of the vehicle.
The Climatronic automatically cools down or warms the inside of the vehicle to 20°C (68°F) after the engine is started.
The mirror heaters also turn on if the outside air temperature is below 20°C (68°F). The rear window heating also turns on if the outside air temperature goes below 4°C (39°F).
