Make sure the lever on the pressure gauge is in position -1-.
-- Start engine and fill hydraulic fluid in reservoir if necessary.
-- Turn the steering wheel approximately 10 times from stop to stop.
-- Check the delivery pressure.
Test Prerequisites
- Ribbed belt/ribbed belt tension OK.
- Sealing of system.
- Hoses/lines are not kinked or constricted.
-- Move the shut-off valve lever on he pressure gauge to -2- and read the pressure.
Let the engine run in idle and close the shut-off valve on the pressure gauge for not longer than five seconds (position -2-).
Specification for Delivery Pressure:
96-104 bar (1392.36-1508.39 psi)
-- If specified value is not attained, replace power steering pump, refer to VANE PUMP .
-- Remove the pressure gauge and adapter.
-- Bleed steering system STEERING, BLEEDING AFTER REPLACING .
-- Check hydraulic fluid level and fill, if necessary, refer to POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING .
-- Check the steering system for leaks, refer to STEERING, CHECKING FOR LEAKS .
